How to Select a Meaningful Memorial
Eye-Catching Stone Creations for Communities and Businesses
Community artwork appears in many forms. Fountains, murals, signage, and public art installations can transform a neighborhood.
At OM Stone, our artisans create public art in an enduring medium: stone. We hand-craft our products and use the patented technologies of GLASS ART® and BRONZSTONE® to craft stonework bursting with long-lasting color. We’ve worked with schools, government offices, community groups, churches, and businesses throughout the country to create a wide variety of stone creations.
Our talented in-house artists and designers can make nearly anything. We can include highly-detailed photographs, etchings, and illustrations in our work.
Unlike other materials that deteriorate in the outdoor elements, stone can withstand all types of weather without visible wear. Additionally, the colors we use in our work do not fade. Our projects are built to stand the test of time.
Are you a community leader or business owner who wants distinctive, durable signage or public art? OM Stone has been creating memorable work for over 77 years. We have extensive experience designing, creating, and installing projects of all sizes.

Signs, Murals, and Artwork
When OM Stone expanded into public art in the 1980s, we didn’t know it would take us all over the United States. We’ve worked on projects for the IRS in Washington, D.C., the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles, and Penn Station in New York.
While we cherish the opportunity to work on these high-profile projects, we’ve also created murals, signs, and artwork for everyone from doctors’ offices to college stadiums.
In our hometown of Hillsboro, Oregon, we were delighted to create a monument that marks the original site of Hillsboro Union High School. The marker traces the school’s history from 1929 until 2009, when the school was demolished and replaced with athletic fields. It’s an excellent example of how public art can enrich a community and preserve history.
The monument contains a full-color rendering of the historic school building and a tribute to a beloved teacher, James B. Thomas. In its latter years, the school had been named J.B. Thomas in his honor. Without this piece of public art, an essential piece of the city’s history would have been lost.
